What has been your biggest accomplishment in the past year – as far as business goes? Opening our second concrete plant in North Carolina and winning this award!
How has the family business successfully linked the family and the business? James Lochren has closely mentored his youngest daughter, Sara, since 2013. Working with family takes mutual respect, understanding, love – and a whole lot of patience! To work successfully together you need to be able to let the little things go and always communicate.
What kind of succession-planning process is in place at the company? Jim’s youngest daughter, Sara, will be taking over the business upon his retirement.
How does the company contribute to the community? We donate to multiple local charities such as the Knightdale YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club. We also participate in local “touch a truck events” and support our fellow locally owned businesses.
